In early 2020, Anastatica was an intangible idea. Musical creativity had been stifled by months of personal stagnation. However, change is wrought by our dynamic world. As the year progressed, music returned to my life and so did the thought of making a tangible solo project.

Following the recording of several experimental demos - that met approval within an underground community - the sound of Anastatica began to form. Spacey riffs, layered soundscapes, and trippy pedal effects punctuated by emotive, lyrical guitar solos.

The eponymous first track of the Empyrean EP was originally recorded under the title "Where Soars the Cosmic Surfer" in mid-March of 2020. The euphonic blending of psychedelia, blues, jazz, and progressive rock emanated the feeling of floating through space which became the epitome and inspiration behind the Empyrean EP.

Particular influences for this track include Buckethead's "Soothsayer"; primarily his use of the clean, dreamlike tone that permeates the main hook of the song.
